Christina M. Reger, Esq. and Robyn Pollack, Esq., CEO and Founder of Trellis Consulting, LLC, two lawyers and workplace culture experts, held a webinar about harassment in the workplace.  Solution-based and practical, this presentation featured storytelling scenarios and discussion about issues of unlawful harassment, including sexual harassment, complaint reporting, and corporate culture.  This webinar encouraged collaborative conversation, long-term learning, and risk reduction.

At the end of this webinar, the active attendee understood: 

  • Quid pro quo, who can be a harasser, and the types of conduct that constitute sexual harassment
  • Hostile work environments, protected classes, harassing conduct, how the workplace is defined, and what is unlawful harassment
  • How the complaint process works, including reporting, manager responsibility, retaliation, and how to create cultures of zero-tolerance in order to prevent harassment

BLF Shareholder Christina M. Reger  presented updates on employment law including how businesses can protect themselves from claims of sexual harassment, to the CPA Continuing Education Society of Pennsylvania, at the Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell, PA on July 11, 2018. 

April 26 and 27, 2018 -
BLF Shareholder Christina M. Reger participated in a panel discussion on Practical Strategies for Handling the Age Discrimination Case at the PBI Employment Law Institute on April 27, 2018 at 11:00 am.  The Panel addressed age-based claims of discrimination in an environment where the average age of the workforce rises, and such claims are increasing and impacting more employers.  They explored unique developments in age discrimination case law and administrative agency enforcement, as well as best practices for employers to avoid liability and for plaintiffs' counsel to preserve and win their claims.  If you have an aging workforce or address these issues regularly with your clients, this was a panel discussion not to be missed.

Reger presented a class at Jenkins Law Library, on the topic What Business Lawyers Need to Know About Employment Law to Avoid Malpractice.  This class provided a checklist of items attorneys should be aware of when setting up a corporate structure, preparing business contracts, or preparing separation, severance or dissolution agreements.
