AIA Contract Document Workshop, presented in Fort Washington, PA by HalfMoon Education.  In this continuing education program for architects, engineers and contractors, BLF attorney Lisa Barton will present the topic Examining Contract Terminology, which will address the types of construction contracts, the roles and relationships of project participants, effective contract negotiation and drafting, and the interpretation of construction contract provisions.

Reger presented a workshop at the U.S. Small Business Administration offices in King of Prussia, PA, titled The New Overtime Rules and Answers to Other HR Issues Keeping You Up at Night, which addressed the new overtime rules issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, employee and independent contractor misclassification, and other HR issues that are troubling employers’ sleep.

BLF shareholder Christina M. Reger presented a workshop at the U.S. Small Business Administration offices in King of Prussia, PA, titled Help Wanted: Independent Contractor and Interns. Are You Sure?, which addressed the U.S. Department of Labor’s focus on independent contractor relationships, how to determine whether a business is properly classifying their independent contractors, and how costly an error in classification can be.
